The Peak District is the ideal choice for a honeymoon destination, which is why it has been named as one of the most popular spots for newlyweds.

A recent survey by SkyParkSecure asked people what their favourite locations for a honeymoon road trip were.

England’s Peak District was up there with the likes of The Amalfi Coast in Italy, the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland, and the South of France, the Derby Telegraph reported

There are many reasons why the area is so popular among loved-up couples, including its breathtaking landscape, its picture-perfect villages, and its historic ruins.

“The Peak District is a great option as a road trip. Ideal if you’re not a fan of long car journeys, the average distance between stops is just 7.99 miles, and there are lots of restaurants you can try, at a total of 462,” a spokesperson for SkyParkSecure stated.

Among the most popular tourist attractions in the Peak District are Chatsworth House, Matlock Bath, 90-metre high footpath Giddy Edge, Derwent Gardens, the Monsal Trail, and the market town of Bakewell.

Castleton, home to Peveril Castle, village shops, and quaint Castleton B and Bs, is also one of the most visited tourist spots.

During a trip here, you will also be able to soak up the view of Mam Tor, or those who enjoy trekking could even walk up the impressive hill.

Watching the sunrise at Mam Tor would certainly be a romantic moment that honeymooners would remember forever.
In fact, ARRAN Sense of Scotland recently named Castleton as one of its favourite locations for a hiking holiday, thanks to its scenic trails, weather, available activities and accommodation costs.
