Many of us have accepted that we’re not going to be taking foreign holidays for the foreseeable future, which means that we’re planning for staycations in the UK in the coming year.
The village of Bakewell, which is within easy reach of our Castleton B&B, took the seventh spot on the list compiled by the publication, with the magazine noting that the village is “famed for its sprawling green spaces, beauty spots and heritage sights”.
Of course, Bakewell is best known for the sweet tart of the same name and it attracts many holidaymakers every year. Staying in Castleton and taking a day trip to Bakewell could be the best way to experience its attractions while having the peace and quiet of the Peak District on your doorstep for the duration of your stay.
Here in Castleton, we’re within easy reach of one of the Peak District’s most famous natural landmarks – Mam Tor.
Nestled in the Hope Valley, you’ll find plenty of stunning walking trails right from the door of our B&B, allowing you to explore this beautiful natural beauty spot and plenty more besides during your holiday in the Peak District.
You can also visit Peak Cavern while you’re staying with us, which boasts the largest natural cave mouth in Europe and is quite a sight to behold. There are several show caves in and around Castleton, which are great attractions to explore during a holiday here.
